I hired her for post partum work through the concierge service. She is an extremely traditional food focused post partum nanny. She does not talk/sing/speak gently to newborn. Nor seem like she enjoys caring for newborns, which was very important to me. She doesn't help with newborn during day time. I found her attitude not pleasant - not an enjoyable energy to be around.
I had her for 6 days, and only 3 of the meals were not over-salted. The kitchen was a mess (counters/nothing was put up/fridge was chaotic from her requesting too much stuff, yet still wanting more ingredients daily). She was not respectful to my mother - spoke to her like she was her employee.
She does want to help, she does know about traditional medicine/herbs, and makes good soup. It was a not a good match for me and my family. I had requested through the concierge service to provide a western post partum nanny, so it is not completely our fault it didn't match up. It was my first experience with a yue-sao and this was a horrible experience (monthly rate of $7200) which I hope this review helps other identify what they can ask for when searching. I hope the concierge service also helps moms ask the right questions to find a good match because we shouldn't have been matched up to begin with. - C. Ma
