Why Does AyiConnect Require ID Verification?
Everyone deserves peace of mind when using AyiConnect.
ID verification helps ensure that members are who they say they are. This creates a safer environment for:
- Families seeking trusted Caregivers
- Helpers looking for genuine and respectful families
By verifying identities, we reduce the risk of fraud, improve transparency, and build a community where members feel more comfortable communicating and working together.
When Is ID Verification Required?
For Families, ID verification is required after posting your first job.
Once the job is created, a notification will appear asking you to verify your ID in order to:
- Post more jobs
- Increase visibility
- Access more applicants
Helpers may also complete ID verification to increase trust and profile credibility.
Benefits of Being ID Verified
Members who complete ID verification enjoy several advantages:
- Post up to 3 jobs per month (for families)
- Job listings are prioritized higher in search results
- Connect with more verified Helpers or families
- Receive unlimited applicants
- A visible “ID VERIFIED” badge on profiles and job listings
This badge signals trust and authenticity, encouraging others to engage with confidence.
How Does ID Verification Work?
The verification process is designed to be secure and straightforward:
- Upload a government-issued photo ID
- Passport
- National ID card
- Driver’s license
- Take a selfie
- This helps confirm that your face matches the ID document.
- Profile matching
- The selfie is checked against your AyiConnect profile photo.
Advanced technology and machine learning are used to assess whether the ID document is authentic and matches the person submitting it.
During the ID upload process, the app will guide you with on-screen instructions to ensure your document meets verification requirements.
Make sure your ID photo is taken in a well-lit environment so all details are clearly visible.
Ensure that all information on the ID is easy to read and not blurry or cropped.
Expired ID cards cannot be verified, so please ensure your document is valid and up to date before submitting.
What If I Don’t Have a Government-Issued Photo ID?
If you do not currently have an official photo ID issued by a government authority, you won’t be able to complete ID verification at this time.
You can try again once you obtain an eligible form of identification.
Verification Options & Cost
There are two ways to complete ID verification on AyiConnect:
- Pay USD $5 (or 5 credits) for a one-time verification
- Free verification when you upgrade to PLUS Membership
PLUS members receive free, one-time ID verification as part of their membership benefits, without using credits or additional payment.
Each member only needs to complete ID verification once. Once your identity is successfully verified, you won’t need to repeat the verification process in the future.
Each verification applies once per member.
Additionally, families and Helpers can request verification confirmation from each other, similar to asking whether someone is real, helping build mutual trust before engagement.
What Does “ID Verified” Actually Mean?
ID verification indicates that:
- The member submitted a valid government-issued ID
- The selfie matches the ID document
- The selfie matches the profile photo
However, verification:
- Is not an endorsement of any Family or Helper
- Supports safer connections, while we still encourage members to stay mindful and follow community safety guidelines
We always encourage members to use their best judgment and follow AyiConnect’s safety guidelines.
Is My Personal Data Safe?
Yes, AyiConnect takes data protection seriously.
- ID document photos are not stored permanently after verification
- The verification process may take up to one week
- Personal data is used only for identity verification and payment-related purposes
Because ID verification is only required once per member, your personal documents are not repeatedly requested or processed.
Information that may be processed includes:
- Facial images
- ID number
- Name and date of birth
- Document type and issuing country
- Fraud prevention signals and device information
For payments, a Helper’s ID may be securely shared with our payment partner to meet regulatory requirements. Your ID is never shared with other AyiConnect users or unauthorized third parties.
Strict security measures: including encryption and access controls, are in place to protect your information.
